How to live an abundant life...regardless of your income

The Couple·preneur

Hey friend,

Back when we ran Simple Abundance Farm (our urban farm), we weren't making much money.

But, because we lived simply, grew our own food, and had a solid community supporting us:

We felt rich.

We weren't stressed about money and
we weren't chasing more, more, more either.

That feeling of abundance gave us the confidence to make bigger and bolder moves later.

And it all started with how we thought about what we needed and what we already had.

We realized these two levers could be adjusted to live an abundant life:

What you earn & what you need.

Here's a thought experiment...

Imagine if you could live on $1 a day...$365 would buy you an entire year of freedom.

If you made $1,000 per month, you'd essentially have unlimited freedom.

(Obviously, that's extreme, but stay with us.)

The point is...

When your income is significantly higher than your needs, you stop making decisions from fear...and start making them from possibility.

What would you do, with that kind of freedom?

And that's where the mindset shift came in.

Living below what your bringing in isn't about restriction.
It's about creating space.

→ Space for peace
→ Space for opportunity
→ Space for a bigger life

That space is what we call...The Abundance Gap.

So whether we're making $30,000 or $300,000, focusing on creating that gap gives us peace of mind.

It set's us up to take risks, seek new challenges...without the constant hamster-wheel-like fear that comes from "worrying about money."

This isn't a sermon about saving your pennies, or clipping coupons. Reducing your expenses is only half the equation.

When we live inside our Abundance Gap, we’re not focused on just saving more or just earning more.

We’re learning to play with both levers,
to build a life that feels spacious, peaceful, and full of possibility.

Adam and I check in regularly about our Abundance Gap whenever we want to realign our mindset around money.

Through the years, here are the realizations we come back to again and again:

  • Freedom comes from spending below our means (at any level)
  • We have power over what we need and what we make
  • Creating breathing room between income and needs is liberating
  • That space is about freedom, not restriction
  • Spend intentionally, in alignment with our values
  • Practice gratitude for what we already have

Here's to building a life you love,
