The Couplepreneur

Big dreams require bold effort and quiet support

The Couple·preneur

Hey friend,

Adam and Arlo are training for BAK (Bike Across Kansas).

A week-long, 475-mile ride from Colorado to Missouri.

(Yep, you read that right.)

On a tandem bike.

With 400+ other riders.

This week in preparation, they decided to bike from our house to our family cabin at Kanopolis Lake.

That’s a 56 mile ride!

Eva and I were the support crew.

We met them on a dirt road, 10 miles to go, armed with water, chocolate, and lots of cheering and encouragement!

The next day, we celebrated their accomplishment with a relaxing day by the lake.

The boys recovered just enough to turn around and bike the 56 miles back home the following day.

This whole adventure, made me realize something:

What once seemed like an impossible feat…is now part of our family's story.

Our 8-year-old has the lived experience of powering himself 56 miles across Kansas, just him, his legs, and a whole lot of determination.

His world got bigger.

The circle of what’s possible widened.

But he didn’t do it alone.

He had his Papa pedaling in front of him.
He had me on standby with snacks and encouragement.
And I had family back home handling the little things...

(like tucking Amazon packages inside our front door while we were away.)

Sometimes we’re the ones riding hard.
Sometimes we’re the ones making the ride possible.
But either way, we move forward together.

And that’s the piece I don’t want to miss.

When someone expands their sense of what’s possible, it’s never a solo effort.

Big dreams require bold effort and quiet support.
Both are sacred.
Both are necessary.

Same goes for business.
Same goes for family.
Same goes for anything worth doing.

So here’s to the ones out front…
To the ones on the sidelines…
To the ones quietly making space for someone else to go further.

You matter more than you know.

You’re part of what makes the impossible possible.

Here's to building a life you love,
Maggie & Adam

P.S.
If you ever wonder if what you’re doing makes a difference, remember this:

Water and chocolate, 10 miles from the finish line, might be the very thing someone needed to keep going.

Also if you're curious here's the BAK route this year...
