The Couplepreneur

Business is 95% mental...we learned that the hard way.

The Couple·preneur

Hey friend,

This week was a full one with 2 podcast interviews!

Adam recorded one solo with our good friend Filip Łysikowski that we're excited to share with you today. You can watch that here!

Filip lives in in a different time zone, so Adam was up at 5am with coffee in hand, ready for a great conversation, while I stayed in my PJs getting the kiddos ready for the day.

We are loving our Walk and Talk podcasts, but decided to mix it up this week.

But...

We wanted to still take time to reflect on this past week.

There's something powerful about looking back with fresh eyes to learn, improve, pivot, and move forward with renewed confidence and excitement.

These reflections also spark gratitude for the life we're choosing, challenges and all.

This week a friend suggested a format she and her partner use called “High, Low, Buffalo" 🦬 (where "buffalo" is something unexpected or surprising).

Let’s try it!

Our High, Low, Buffalo Highlights

Business High:

We started working with Elliott Duck as a business coach and have gotten a LOT more clear on our service offering at SAF Digital.

We are doubling down on our outreach strategy and setting up a tech stack that will allow us to "hopefully" get a pipeline of clients to help grow our fledgling agency.

You can check out Adam's podcast interview with Elliott here...

Life High:

My birthday was this week!

Though still a bit under the weather, I celebrated with my wonderful family.

Eva hit two milestones, sitting up on her own and eating her first food (avocado)!

Since she was an avocado for Halloween, she's officially earned the title "Eva-cado."

Business Low:

This week we discovered the physiological stressor and challenge of "payroll."

Constant money out.
Someone else relying on you.
It was a lot.

But it's a valuable lesson in entrepreneurship. I firmly believe business is 95% mental. Get that right, and the rest falls into place.

Life Low:

The pre-trip anxiety and last-minute scramble before traveling (headed to Seattle!).

Once we're on our way it vanishes, but that day-before stress is never fun.

Business Buffalo:

I went to a local networking event (Adam stayed with the kids), and he reminded me that putting ourselves out there "increases our surface area for luck,” which is something we tell our clients.

Turns out I had the wrong date and the event wasn't happening!

I stayed for a kombucha anyway, and on my way out bumped into someone who might become a client.

Surface area for luck, indeed!

Life Buffalo:

On a whim, I rearranged our studio space and it feels amazing! (We'll send pics soon!)

I also moved one chair in the living room and cleaned up some cord clutter.

It's surprising how a few small tweaks can bring such lasting satisfaction.

(I feel silly for even sharing this, but I seriously LOVE these tiny tweaks!)

We want to hear from YOU!

Have you tried the "High, Low, Buffalo" format for reflections with your partner?

What unexpected "buffalos" have appeared in your life recently?

Reply to this email, we'd love to hear your experiences!

Final Thought...

The best opportunities often come from unexpected places.

Whether it's a networking event that doesn't happen but leads to a chance encounter, or simply rearranging your space for a fresh perspective, staying open to possibility creates magic in both business and life.

Here's to embracing the unexpected buffalos in your week!
