The Couplepreneur

If your business (or life) is draining you, read this.

The Couple·preneur

Hey friend,

What do you do when your energy feels scattered?

Between changing diapers, snow days, building a business with Adam, writing this newsletter, and recording our podcast…

I feel like I’m constantly switching between "maker mode" (deep creative work) and "manager mode" (logistics, decisions, and keeping everything moving).

This week I caught myself thinking, I just need to push harder, wake up earlier, stay up later, and squeeze in more.

But by doing that, I feel even more stretched thin.

This approach always backfires, which results in nothing getting my
best energy.

And if I’m being honest, part of this is just the season of life we’re in.

But part of it?

Is always within my control.

Because deep down I know, it’s not about finding more time, or doing more.

It’s about:

✅ Doing more of what fuels you.
❌ Doing less of what drains you.

Because the reality is, some things give you energy and some things take it away.

And the faster we figure out which is which, the faster we build a business (and life) that fuels us instead of burning us out.

The framework we're using: SIMPLE

To guide us, we use a six-pillar framework for building a business and life we love:

S – Seek Vitality
I – Inner Awareness
M – Meaningful Relationships
P – Pursue Creativity
L – Live Dynamically
E – Embrace Thriving

This week, I’m focusing on Seek Vitality. (a.k.a. ENERGY)

Because if you don’t have energy, nothing else works.

How we're creating more energy in our business...

We going to stop being inside the "magic box."

We used to think working harder would move the needle.

But here’s the truth: Your business is a magic box.

  • A problem goes in.
  • The right systems, people, and processes work on it.
  • A solution comes out, without you touching every piece.

We realized we were screwing up our magic box.

We weren’t just running the business, we were the business.

Every decision, every task, every bottleneck came back to us.

And when that happens, your business doesn’t give you energy, it drains it.

So we started asking:

What if the business could run and grow without us touching every part of it? What if we started to think more seriously about:

✅ Automating repetitive tasks.
✅ Hiring for things that drain us.
✅ Focusing on more high-leverage work.

For our business to work, we needed to get outside of the box.

So for us, that meant bringing on an incredible copywriter onto our team to help streamline content production and build out our systems.

This has instantly created more space, more energy, and more momentum!

Because now, the things that used to slow us down are moving forward without us.

Allowing us to focus on what we do best and making our work way more fun with her additional skills, talent, and enthusiasm.

If your business is draining you, ask yourself:

Am I inside the box, or am I building the box?

How we're creating more energy in life (outside of our business)...

We're fueling ourselves well.

The fastest way to upgrade your energy?

Upgrade what you put in your body.

For us, that looks like:

Greens every morning
Vitamins & supplements
A smoothie packed with nutrients

Because when you’re running on caffeine and stress, you’re not making your best decisions.

And when you skip sleep, movement, and real food, you feel it.

Not overnight.

But slowly.

Until you wake up one day and wonder why you’re constantly exhausted.

Your energy is your greatest asset. Protect it like it’s your job.

Also...I’m doing an exercise challenge.

Right now, I’m in the middle of a 14-day Pilates challenge.

And the best part? It’s non-negotiable.

  • No debating whether I feel like working out.
  • No deciding if I have time.
  • No excuses.

The decision is already made.

And every time I show up, I reinforce to myself that:

"I keep the promises I make to myself."

That confidence carries over into everything, business, relationships, parenting.

Because when you consistently show up for yourself, you create momentum in every area of life.

Takeaway

Think about your energy:

🔹 What fuels you and brings more energy into your business?

🔹 What fuels you and brings more energy into life outside of business?

💡 Now, choose one thing to start doing more of this week.

Because success isn’t about working harder.

It’s about working from a place of energy.

Hit reply and let us know what you’re choosing. We’d love to hear from you!

Here’s to living the life you want...together.

This week we did something a little different.

Adam had a conversation with Emanuel Bagerakis.

He grew his LinkedIn audience to 10,000 followers in Portuguese. Now he is starting over with ZERO in English.

They talk about communicating with visuals, the importance of relationships and community online, and so much more...
